Spring Has Sprung!

Hi friends! Spring has sprung, Theotokos is done. Well, the cross stitch anyways. Now the beading is left to do.

I bought this pattern on ebay. It is from 2006. It was open, but they stated that everything was there. I did some checking on the internet this weekend. It seems that the patterns come with directions in 6 languages. Well not mine. It is only in Russian. I am unsure if I should use one strand of the wool or two to attach the beads. I emailed Riolis over the weekend. I hope they respond and let me know soon.

So since almost all the snow is melted, the weather has been milder, and I can see a few plants beginning to peek out of the soil, I will now accept that Spring is here. ;)

I was looking for a poodle chart this weekend and came across this one.

I bought this pattern at a thrift shop. It has a few notes in pencil inside from the previous stitcher, so it is not in mint shape. But I know I will never get to stitching this. Would you like to stitch it? If you would like it, you need to be a follower of mine. AND... just for fun, you also need to answer this question correctly. :) If more than one of you get the correct answer, I will draw a name. I will draw a winner on Monday, April 7th. Here's your question: What is my least favorite spring time chore?

I finally finished reading My Heart's Cry by Anne Graham Lotz. I really liked this book a lot. I am glad it is my book, as I have pages marked off to go back to again and again. Simply put, this book is all about saturating your life with Jesus.

Well, if someone has a Riolis kit, and wants to tell me if I should use one or two strands of wool for attaching the beads, please tell me! Or maybe you just know, please tell me! I would love to begin today. Otherwise, I may be taking another break with a small stitchy project. :)

Have a super dee duper day!  Ha! Did your kids watch Barney over and over too?! Some of the songs are stuck in my head FOREVER from kid's programs.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

The chart you picked up from the thrift shop is a real treat! Very traditional looking and such pretty colors. Something I have not actually stitched yet so would love the chance to :) As for your least favorite spring chore... not really sure maybe spring cleaning? But everyone loves that right!
Your cross stitch is stunning and cannot wait to see what effect the beads will have once you have added them :)
Smiles and sunshine to you, have a lovely week :)

What a magnificent finish Vickie.
It is absolutely beautiful and will be even more so with the addition of the beads.
No need to enter me for the chart giveaway. There are already too many on my to be stitched list!
Happy Monday,
Margaret

How wonderful that the stitching on Theotokos is finished, Vickie--I'm sure you'll do a great job with the beading, too. Hope you get an answer from them soon.

We had an inch of snow yesterday, but it melted and today will be in the 50s. It even smells like spring outside--finally :)

Great job on Theotokos! Our kids had a DVD of nursery rhyme songs telling a story. For years "Do You Know the Muffin Man?" and "Who Took the Cookies From the Cookie Jar?" were stuck in my brain!

Congrats on getting all the stitching done! Do whatever you're most comfortable for the beads. I actually pretty much always attach mine with one strand of nymo using a full cross

well done with your stitching.
I would use one thread for stitching the beads on as it would make them lie closer to the fabric and look neater.

Your Theotokis is gorgeous! What a bummer about the directions. Can you experiment and see what looks best with the beads??? Hope you get answers soon. As for Barnie. Ack! Yes, my DD loved Barnie! DS not so much. lolol!

Your almost finished stitching is going to be an amazing gift for your hubby. I was going to pass on the chart, but when I enlarged it and saw all those blue birds... Well, here's my guess :)
Since you have two dogs, I'd say cleaning up after the winter to bring your back yard back to life could easily be the answer!

Gorgeous design. Good to hear that
spring is in the air over at your end. We are finally getting some rain after some weeks of dry spell that threaten a drought.

Thank you for visiting me, it's so wonderful to read your comments.

Hugs, Lillie

Hey Vickie!
Theotokos is beautiful! I would use 1 strand to attach the beads.
I am going to guess washing windows :) Lovely chart but I am not interested in stitching it, I have too many other projects.
Have a great week my friend!

What a great accomplishment on Theotokos!
I'll have to check out that AGL book. She is a great teacher.
Ha! I am now singing, "I love you, you love me. We're a happy family..." in my head. Thanks ;)

Beautiful finish - something to treasure for sure. It's turned mild here in the UK with sun but I'm not sure it will last

Beautiful job on Theotokos and I hope you hear back soon about how to attach the beads.

Very nice finish!!! That was quite the undertaking, with all that tan.
I usually add beads with one thread, for what it's worth, but that's because I'm stringy. lol. There probably isn't a 'wrong' answer, so long as you like the way it looks in the end.

I can't help you with the Riolis kit but I hope you'll get the info you're looking for!
Here we had a few days of Sun and warm, right when my baby was born :) but it was only for 2 weeks.. Now it's cold and rain all over again! Weird spring for us :(
Enjoy your spring! :)))

There is so much beading on your project, it will look amazing! I would probably use 1 thread for the beads as it fits through easier.

I love the sampler, I am a fan of band samplers. Your least favourite spring chore? Taking all the curtains down to wash them because they look dusty in the new sunlight.

Theotokos looks already gorgeous, congratulations on finishing all the stitching. I'm looking forward to seeing this piece with the beads added.
So good to know that spring has finally reached you. Enjoy the warmer temperatures.
